Margaret Fisher Obituary

Margaret Ann (Duquette) Fisher, 84, of South Windsor, beloved wife of Clifford H. Fisher, Jr., died peacefully on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Hartford Hospital. Margaret (Peggy) was born in Bristol, CT, on February 26, 1941, daughter of the late James M. and Ann (Officer) Duquette. She was a graduate of St. Anthony's High School Class of 1959 and went on to St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing. Upon graduating in 1962, she went on to work for St. Francis Hospital as a registered nurse. Margaret then met and married the love of her life, Clifford (Skip) Fisher on May 28, 1966, eventually settling in South Windsor where they raised their family. After 5 years of working as a nurse, Margaret decided to put her career on hold and focus on becoming a full-time Mom to raise her five children. In her retirement years she decided to re-enter the work force and worked part time at the Christmas Tree Shop. She was a parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Church and enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, painting with watercolors, crafts; often creating beautiful gifts for family and friends, reading a good mystery book, and trips to Cape Cod. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. Along with her husband of over 59 years, Clifford, she leaves her sons, James and his wife Elizabeth, Daniel and his wife Elissa, and John of South Windsor; her grandchildren, Timothy and Emma of South Windsor and Darren and Brayden of Branford. She also leaves her brother, John Duquette and his wife Joyce of Bristol, her brother-in-law, Dr. Michael Dybka of Milford, MA, her nephews and nieces, Craig Duquette and Jared Duquette of Bristol, Mary Diorio and her husband Andrew of Milford, MA, and Elizabeth Winters of Worcester, MA, and many other family members and friends. She was predeceased by her sons, Steven and Michael and her sister-in-law, JoAnn Dybka. Funeral services and burial will be private at the request of her family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Make-A-Wish Foundation. Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home has care of the arrangements.
