Marian Carluccio Obituary
Marian Carluccio, 90, of Colchester, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Marian's life was enriched and blessed by great family and friends. She was born on August 7, 1934 to Joseph and Concetta (Lombardi) Picucci. After graduating from Leominster High School with the class of 1952, Marian attended Fitchburg State Teachers College, earning a Bachelor's degree in Education. She began her career as an elementary school teacher in the Leominster, Massachusetts public school system.
In 1961, Marian married Leeds Carluccio at Saint Anna's Church in Leominster, MA. After their wedding, they moved to Cornell University in Ithaca, New York where they welcomed their three daughters, Lisa, Jane, and Susan. In 1966, Marian and Leeds relocated to New Britain, and in 1967, they moved to Newington to their first home where they raised their family. Marian worked as a substitute teacher in the New Britain and Newington public school systems, the N.E.C.C.I. program, volunteered at the Lucy Robbins Welles Library, and was an active member of the Newington Women's Democratic Club. Marian and Leeds retired in 2003 and shortly after they moved to Colchester to be closer to their four precious granddaughters.
Marian loved FaceTiming daily with her family, especially her great grandsons who brought so much life into her home in recent years. She was also an avid football fan, cheering on the New York Giants from her kitchen counter while making her signature pepper breads. Marian was deeply invested in her friends and family, regularly communicating via phone, text and email, sharing stories, photos and memories. She never forgot to reach out with a kind word in times of struggle or celebration. Marian loved watching daily masses at Saint Josephine Bakhita Parish online and was dedicated to saying her rosary each night before bed. The family is heartened knowing that Marian was comforted by her deep faith in God.
Marian was predeceased by her husband and dear partner of 62 years, Leeds; her mother and father; her sisters, Rosina, Raphaela, Anna, and Theresa; and her brothers, Angelo, Carmine, Anthony, Louis, and Joseph.
Remaining to cherish Marian's memory are her three daughters and their families- Lisa and Scott Barr; Jane Carluccio and Kristen Peck; Susan and Harry Link; and four special granddaughters - Katelynn (Chris) Burtis, Jacqueline Barr, Emma (Alex) Dell'Acqua, and Anna Link, all of whom brought many new joys to her life. In recent years, her family continued to grow with the addition of her three great grandsons, Max, Cameron, and Liam Burtis, who brought immeasurable happiness to her. In addition, she is survived by her sister Margaret, and brother Richard. She is also survived by her 28 nieces and nephews, and relatives in the Picucci and Carluccio families.
