Marie Brunelle Obituary

Marie Diane DeFonse Brunelle, 81, of Cheshire, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at MidState Medical Center in Meriden. She was born in New Haven on January 11, 1944, and was the daughter of the late Ralph and Margaret Kelly DeFonse. Marie worked as a secretary in the guidance department at Hamden High School for over 25 years and then part time for the Milford Board of Education. She enjoyed musicals and plays, especially at Foxwoods, shopping and trying new restaurants. Marie's greatest joy was spending time with her family, whom she loved unconditionally. Mother of Tracey Post and his wife Jean. Beloved Gram of Kelly, Kyle and Conner Post. Loving great gram of Riley, Raegan, and Austin Post. She is predeceased by her brother August DeFonse. The visiting hour will be on Wednesday morning, March 5th from 10:00 to 11:00 at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A graveside service will be conducted at Beaverdale Memorial Park in New Haven at 11:30. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Marie, please visit our Tree Store.
