Mario Belli

Mario Belli, 84, of East Haven passed away peacefully on Friday, March 21st, 2025 at his home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 58 years to Anna Anastasio Belli. Mario was born in Patrica, Province of Frosinone, Italy on February 10, 1941, and was the son of the late Pietro and Maria Mansueti Belli. A Mason/Contractor all his life, Mario was the owner/operator of M & B Construction for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed playing cards(especially gin) and checkers, making his homemade wine, prosciutto and sausage, and was a big supporter of the San Cataldo Society in the province of Supino, Italy. Mario was a member of the Washington Pietro Micca Club, the East Haven Italian-American Club and Club Napoli of Northford. Mario was the most generous person and would give you the shirt off his back. At the same time, he was tough but a lovable giant. Father of Carla Ann Shavel (Michael), Maria R. Belli and Angela Belli-Infante (Massimo). Grandfather of Sara Ann Redding (Peter) and Gabriella Rose Bigos(Tyler Smith) Brother of Rosina Colonna (Onorino) and Ennio Belli (Elaine). Also survived by nieces and nephews. The visiting hours will be Thursday morning, March 27th from 8:30 to 10:30 at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Michael's Church/Blessed Michael McGivney Parish, New Haven at 11:00. Entombment will follow in the All Saints Mausoleum.
