Mary Argiro Obituary

Mary Ann Argiro, 89, wife of John Argiro, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026, in New Britain after a long illness. Born in Meriden, CT, on July 6, 1936, she was the daughter of the late John and Annabelle Bosch. She attended Southington High School and Central Connecticut State College. Mary Ann was employed by Pratt & Whitney, Radiology Associates, Meriden Health Department, and UConn Health Center, and retired in 1996. She was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Angels Parish, Mt. Carmel Church.
Mary Ann was an avid reader and loved to travel to Cape Cod, Rhode Island, Europe, and she enjoyed cruises. She was a lifelong learner who believed in always making friends younger and older than yourself-and she did this to the day she passed, still making new friends. If you were a friend of Mary Ann's, you were a friend for life. She was proud of and found joy in her two children, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and, of course, the love of her life, John. They had just celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary this past December.
Besides her husband, John, she is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Vern) Van Fleet; her son, Michael (Louise) Argiro; her four grandchildren, Daniel Van Fleet, Julianne (Timothy) Januszyk, David (Gina) Van Fleet, and Jack Argiro; and her three great-grandchildren, Addison, Rylee, and Eli Januszyk. She is also survived by her six nieces and two nephews, several great-nieces and great-nephews, and her brother-in-law, Donald Dionne. She was predeceased by her sister, Hilda; her sisters-in-law, Rose (Stanley) Adamski and Elizabeth (Kenneth) DelFavero and brothers-in-law, James (Eleanor) Argiro and Robert (Zerline) Argiro.
Her family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels Parish, Mt. Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Ave., Meriden, CT 06451. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association (ADPA) online at apdaparkinson.org/community/connecticut/ways-to-give-ct/donate/.

To John, Cindy, Vern, Michael, and Louise,

We are heartbroken to learn of Mary Ann´s passing. She was a long time, treasured friend who greatly enriched our lives with her warmth, giving heart, wit and insights. To say we will miss her is an understatement. To her dear husband and family, who she was so proud of, you have our deepest sympathy.
