Mary Elizabeth Mency

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Aunt a phenomenal woman Mary Elizabeth Mency (Casey) affectionally known as "Liz". She was the oldest child and only daughter born to the late William Casey Sr. and Eula Mae (Bobb) Casey on April 28, 1929, in Americus, Georgia. After graduating from Staley High School in Americus, Georgia, she married her childhood sweetheart the love of her life the late Lenton Mency on May 26, 1947. Liz and Lenton moved to Boston after marriage where she remained until December 2023. Then she moved to CT with her niece Vanessie Casey-Green and nephew Herbert Green. Liz enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed watching TV her favorite soap opera was "General Hospital" and long car rides. Precious memories are left to her devoted nieces Vanessie Casey-Green (Herbert), Lisa Casey, Pamela Casey, Rebra Carter, Shebra Parker and Sharon Riley all of CT; Fatima (Clennon) Jones of GA; Frances Mencey, Rhonda Mencey and Karen Monteiro (Steve) all of MA; Nephews Anthony Casey and Llewelyn (Lee) Casey all of CT; the late Royal Casey. Her great nieces Kerryann (Marlon) McFarlane of FL, Carla Brown and Catellia Casey-Coombs (Brian) all of CT, Clennysha Jones of GA. Her great nephews Brandon and Jermaine Green and Paul and Julian Casey all of CT. Godson Gilbert (Starr) Lane of GA. Cousins Barbara Casey, Billy Casey, Gloria McGarrah, Sandra McGarrah, Cheryl Eubanks all of CT, and Cleta Mitchell of GA, and a host of other relatives and friends. Liz was predeceased by husband Lenton Mency, brothers William (Bro) Casey Jr, James (Sonny) Casey and Ceasar (CB) Casey.
