Meghan (Sanders) Garofalo, 35, beloved daughter, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully in her home on July 29, 2025. Meghan grew up in Wethersfield, graduating from Corpus Christi School and Northwest Catholic High School. She went on to get a degree in Hospitality Management from DeVry University and was employed for years in restaurant management. She loved being an aunt and godmother. She spent many years dancing, and enjoyed performing, particularly with her mother and sister. A self-proclaimed "cat lady", Meghan dearly loved her cat Munchkin, and mourned the loss of her other pet, Boots.
At times, Meghan lived in New Britain, Manchester and Vernon, where she resided at the time of her death. Recently she began a relationship with Chris Buckbee that brought her much joy. Although her life was burdened by chronic illness, she continued the fight throughout her days, including receiving a kidney transplant earlier this year. Meghan leaves her father, William M. Sanders, of Wethersfield, and his wife Colleen Sanders; her siblings, Kimberly Spera of Coventry, RI and William J. Sanders of Marlborough, CT; their spouses, Kenneth Spera and Sybil Sanders and nieces and nephews Allison and Jacqueline Spera and Nadya and Ivan Shapiro. She had a large family with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Meghan is predeceased by her beloved mother, Louise (Krawiec) Sanders and her grandparents: William A. and Marie Sanders and Joseph and Claire Krawiec. Meghan's most favorite place to visit was Disney World, most recently a family trip in 2022 to celebrate Allison and Jackie's first visit.
