Michael Feniolo Obituary
Michael Anthony Feniolo, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, humility and quiet strength. Born in New Haven, Connecticut on July 11, 1930, Mike lived a life rooted in hard work, family and service. He was a devoted catholic and a longtime parishioner of St. Bernadette Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Virginia, where he developed the steadfast character and discipline that shaped his life.
Following his military service, Mike embarked on a long and fulfilling career. He worked at the Voss Company and then as a serviceman for the Southern CT Gas Co. from 1969 until his retirement in 1995. He also was employed at Quinnipiac University part time. Known for his reliability and calm demeanor, he earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike. Though humble by nature, his quiet presence and consistent work ethic left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
At the heart of Mike's life was his family. He was the loving husband of 72 years to the late Betty Derrico Feniolo and together they built a home filled with warmth, kindness and enduring love. He was a devoted father to Deborah Pantera (Dr. Robert Pantera) and to Karen Foster, (the late Gatry Foster). His greatest joy came from his grandchildren-Lindsey Fiondellla (Anthony), Dr. Brett Pantera and Kyle Foster – and his adored great grandchildren Mackenzie and Grayson Fiondella, who brought light and laughter into his later years.
A man of few words but a boundless heart, Michael was known for his gentle spirit and unwavering patience. He found solace and joy in gardening, nurturing his plants with the same quiet care and attention he gave to those around him. Whether tending to his flowers or spending time with family, he lived simply and generously, never seeking attention but always offering support. This included preserving their Italian traditions entertaining family and friends with Sunday dinners and backyard picnics. He also was a big fan of his favorite teams, The Boston Red Sox, the NY Giants and the UConn Husky basketball teams.
Michael was predeceased by his wife Betty, his parents Guilio and Adeline Belaeff Feniolo, his brother Louis Feniolo, Sr and his sister Rose Ferraro. He is survived by his brother Julius Feniolo (Mary) of Branford, his many nieces and nephews and all extended family and friends who loved him dearly. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched with his kindness, humility and steadfast love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Mike's family would like to thank the Village at Mariners Point for their concern and care and the staff at Connecticut Hospice for the wonderful care they provided for their family.
