Michael Wallace Obituary

Michael Anthony Wallace, Sr., 63, of Meriden and formerly of Hartford, beloved husband for 21 years of Audra Shaune Grange-Wallace, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at his home. Born in Hartford on November 21, 1961, son of the late Augusta Louise Williams, he was raised by his foster parents, Charles Levy and Alberta Dyson-Levy. He attended Hartford Public Schools and was a graduate of Bulkeley High School, Class of 1980. After high school, Michael started working and over the years had a variety of jobs, sometimes four or five at a time! He worked as a janitor, construction worker, mechanic, newspaper courier, car detailer, truck driver, and as a warehouse worker among other things. Michael was truly a "jack-of-all-trades" and would do anything to support his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing in the local lakes, rivers, and streams and when time allowed, he loved fishing off the Connecticut and Rhode Island shoreline. Most of all, Michael will be remembered as a family man who enjoyed listening to music, spending time with his family, going to comedy shows with his wife, and relaxing at his home. Michael had a great sense of humor and loved joking with his co-workers, family and friends many of whom had a nickname, that he affectionately referred to them by. In addition to his loving wife, Audra Shaune Grange-Wallace, he leaves to mourn his passing, 11 children, Michael Wallace, Jr. of Maryland, Raheem Wallace of New London, Terra Wallace of Hartford, Cajun Wallace of Hartford, Tashona Wallace of Hartford, Dazhane Grange of Hartford, Sanai Wallace of Meriden, Dallas Wallace of Meriden, Imani Wallace of Meriden, Isis Ford of Hartford, and Eugene Rocker Jones and his wife Krishawn of Bronx, NY; two brothers, Ernest Wallace of Hartford and Neil Williams of Manchester; a sister, Sydney Abrams and her wife Sherri of Enfield; 22 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; his mother-in-law, Louine Johnson of East Hartford; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 15, 10-11 a.m., followed by a Homegoing Service at 11 a.m., at The Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Rd., Windsor. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. The family invites everyone to join them following the graveside services at the Collin B. Bennett Building, 1229 Albany Ave., Hartford. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 3000 Whitney Ave #121, Hamden, CT 06518 or by visiting, www.kidney.org/donate. Carmon Windsor Funeral Home has care of the arrangements. For online condolences and to view the services live or after, Wednesday, October 15th at 11 a.m., please visit, www.carmonfuneralhome.com.
