Michelle M. Beaulieu Nieves "Meesh", 56, of Enfield, passed away peacefully on September 22nd, after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma. Raised in Enfield, she attended Enfield High School, and studied at AIC, earning a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Special Education. Her teaching career of 30 years brought her deep joy, as she made an immense difference in their young lives. Known as Miss B, she cared about and was loved by her students and colleagues. The first question that she asked her Dr. when she learned of her diagnosis was "When can I return to the classroom?" Her dedication and good heart were immeasurable.
Michelle's most treasured moments were those with her loving husband, Lou and her beloved daughter, Imani. She supported Imani's passions for gymnastics, skating and soccer, and shared special Mother-Daughter time. Michelle loved the beach and the peacefulness of listening to the waves. Her visits to her family in Maine were always fun-filled and memorable. Family poolside picnics at her Mother's, time with her cousins and best friend, Trina, were important pleasures in her life. Her favorite holiday was Christmas with its lights and music. The special bond of sisterhood was true and deep between Michelle and Jennifer. Their memories from childhood to the present are endless and cherished. Her playful cats, Nala and Layla brought her happiness and entertainment. Michelle's faith and belief in angels was a constant source of hope and courage, especially during her illness.
Michelle is survived by her loving husband, Lou Nieves, who was by her side with an unwavering attitude of faith, strength and comfort, her beautiful daughter, Imani, her mother, Joanne Beaulieu and her sister, Jennifer, her stepson, Shondell and Lena Redd and their sons, Phouvah and Bam Bam, her sisters in law, Rhonda Nieves, Cintia Nieves, brother in law Leonard Nieves. Also, aunts and uncles, Barbara and Richard Earley and Janet and Chip Centore, Bob and Louise Beaulieu, Nel and Barbara Beaulieu, Pat Camire and her husband, Dan Bellamare and cherished cousins, friends and extended families. Michelle deeply missed her Father, Norman and her Gramps, Louis. After they passed, she wrote a poem in their honor. These are some excerpts from "I Am."
"I imagine what Heaven is like.""I feel my Dad and Gramps hugging me. I touch their Angel wings and ask them for a ride beyond the stars.""I understand that life is short and everyone's time will come. I believe that I will see my Dad and Gramps again."
