Nancy Ayers Obituary

Nancy M. Ayers, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on June 3, 1937, in Ware, MA, she was the daughter of the late James and Alice (Poirier) Smith. Nancy is survived by her three daughters: Deb Borecki and her husband Bob, Donna Corbin, and Lisa LaBonte and her husband Joe Wlodyka. She cherished her five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who were a constant source of joy in her life. She is also remembered by her beloved siblings, Ronald Smith, James Smith, and Jane Boilard. Nancy was predeceased by her first husband Leo LaBonte and second husband Stephen Ayers. Nancy retired from Crimmins Graveline Insurance Agency after a remarkable 25-year career as an insurance clerk. She was a member of Divine Mercy parish where she enjoyed the community's fellowship. Family and friends were everything to Nancy. She adored gathering for holidays, especially Christmas, where her love for decorating and baking brought her loved ones together. Nancy also found joy in attending Broadway shows in New York and Boston, and she had a passion for playing various card games, particularly Bridge, which she enjoyed with her card family. She adored her loving dogs; Chum, Mickey, Cody and Sweetie. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 1st, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at Divine Mercy Parish; family and friends are invited to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at St. Anne's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Nancy's memory to either Shriners Hospitals for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104 or Second Chance Animal Shelter, 111 Young Rd., East Brookfield, MA 01515.
