Nancy Castleberry Obituary

Nancy Elizabeth Castleberry, 69, born in Clewiston, Florida, to the late Rossie Lee Castleberry Sr. and Rebecca Watts Castleberry. At a young age, Nancy moved to Connecticut, where she later graduated from Bloomfield High School. She went on to attend St. Mary College in New York, earning her degree in Nursing. Nancy dedicated over 32 years of compassionate service to Hartford Hospital, where she touched countless lives through her care and professionalism. After retiring, she remained active in her community, particularly through her volunteer work at the Windsor Public Library, where she tutored local children after school. Nancy was a loving mother to three sons. She was a loving grandmother to four grandchildren whom she loved very much. Her happiest moments were moments surrounded by her children and grandchildren while cooking a home-cooked meal for them. It always brought joy to her face when she had her boys and grandchildren all together. Nancy's faith was an essential part of her life. She loved reading the King James Version of the Bible and found peace and inspiration in gospel music. She was also a fan of Luther Vandross, with "Dance With My Father" holding a special place in her heart. Nancy leaves behind her sons Darren Castleberry, Darryl Castleberry, and Micheal Castleberry; four cherished grandchildren: Drew Castleberry, Jordan Betancourt, Darren Castleberry, Jr., Anais Madison Castleberry: one great-granddaughter Avani Castleberry: her beloved sister Ellen Castleberry Brown (Peggy)and is also survived by three uncles-James Watts, Ted Campbell, and Homer Watts-as well as two aunts, Mattie Ellis and Sadie Hardy. In addition to her parents, Rossie and Rebecca Castleberry she was predeceased by her two brothers, Calvin Castleberry and Rossie Lee Castleberry Jr. The Castleberry family extends heartfelt thanks to the nurses and caregivers of Hartford Hospital for their kindness, comfort, and compassionate care during Nancy's final days. Your support has been deeply appreciated. Nancy's legacy of love, service, and family will forever be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
