Nancy Taylor Obituary

Nancy (Sloan) Taylor, passed away on March 21, 2025, at Glastonbury Health Care Center. She was born in Manchester, CT, on November 29, 1939. The daughter of the late, Robert F. Sloan, jr. and Robina (Hall) Sloan. She graduated from MHS, class of 57. She resided in Bolton, CT for 41 years, returning to Manchester in 2002. She was employed at Greenwood Health Center, now known as Park Place in Hartford, CT, for over 30 years, retiring in 2005. While enjoying a brief retirement, she volunteered at MMH. She returned to work at OBGYN Group of Eastern, CT where she retired in 2017. She loved nature and spent many years hiking and biking in the US, Canada and Scotland. She was a former member of the Appalachian Mountain Club. She also participated in the Manchester Road Race for many years. She was a communicant of Trinity Covenant for many years. She was also a former member of the Manchester Fire Dept. 8th District Women's Auxiliary. She leaves behind her beloved daughters, Linda M. Taylor, of Tampa, FL and Lisa R. Taylor of Manchester, CT. She also leaves her sister, Betty Lou Longo and her husband, Charles, of Glastonbury. Her brother, Ronald E. Sloan and his wife Barbara of Columbia, CT. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert J. Sloan, and his wife Linda B. Sloan, who both passed on in 2018. John F. Tierney Funeral Home has care of the arrangements. In honor of Nancy's wishes, there will be no calling hours. Funeral Services and burial will be private, at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to The Appalachian Mountain Club, AMC, Attn: Development, 10 City Square, Suite 2, Boston, MA 02129 and MACC – Manchester Area Conference of Churches, P.O.
