Nicoletta Petta

Waterbury Nicoletta Petta "Loving wife, mother and grandmother" Mrs. Nicoletta (Iovine) Petta, 92, of Waterbury, entered into the Gates of Heaven on Tuesday February 25, 2025 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Alessandrino "Alex" Petta who passed away October 23, 2024. Nicoletta was born in Castelmauro, Campobasso, Italy on September 1, 1932, daughter of the late Giuseppe and Assunta (Iovine) Iovine. She moved to Canada from Italy in 1962 where she reunited with her husband settling to Waterbury in 1967. She was employed at Specialty Packaging Products for 29 years until her retirement in 1996. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who along with her husband stayed true to their Italian heritage making sausage, tending to her vegetable garden and canning, always sharing the fruits of their labor with family and friends. She was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and she was formerly a member of the St. Ann's Society. Nicoletta leaves to honor and cherish her memory: her daughter, Benedettina "Tina" Pelletier and her husband Paul of Waterbury; 2 grandchildren, Alex Pelletier and Elise Pelletier; a brother, Pasquale Iovine and his wife Giuseppina of Castelmauro, Italy, a sister, Anna Iovine and her husband Giuseppe of Toronto, Canada; brothers and sisters-sin-law, Antonio Petta and his wife Antonietta of Oakville, Giulio Petta and his wife Ginette of Ocala, FL, Marylou Petta of Waterbury and Maria Petta of Watertown; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by a sister, Concetta Ricciardi and her husband Alberto, 3 brothers-in-law, Pasquale "Pat" Petta, Giovanni "John" Petta, and Nicola "Nick" Petta and his wife Michelina, 2 sisters-in-law, Josephine Clissa and her husband Leonardo and Guilia Petta. Arrangements: Nicoletta's funeral will be held Tuesday March 4, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home 430 Chase Parkway Waterbury to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in Calvary's Queen of Peace Mausoleum. Calling hours will be Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
