Noreen Stone Obituary

Noreen E. Stone (Slater), 37, of Portland, CT, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Noreen was born on January 20, 1988, in Rockville, CT. She was a graduate of Somers High School, Class of 2006, and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Health Science from the University of Hartford in 2010. That same year, she also completed the Phlebotomy Training Program at Hartford Hospital's School of Allied Health. She worked for Clinical Laboratory Partners before joining Select Medical as a Referral Management Coordinator. Her continued passion for helping others led her, most recently in 2025, to become a Certified Recovery Intervention Specialist. Noreen was known for her intelligence, compassion, and resilience. With a beautiful smile and the biggest heart, she brought warmth to every room. A friend to anyone who met her, Noreen was a fun, funny, and loving sister and daughter who filled the lives around her with smiles, jokes, and light. Her passing is a heartbreaking loss for all who loved her and believed in the future she was working so hard to rebuild. She is survived by her loving parents, Roy and Claire (O'Keefe) Slater of Somers, CT; her sister, Jennifer Strong, and brother-in-law, Ronald Strong, of Enfield, CT; her brother, Kenneth Slater, of Venice, CA; and her former husband, Ryan Stone, of Windsor, CT. Noreen also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members and friends who will miss her deeply. She had a deep love for animals, and her three dogs, Gizmo, Dude, and Gidget, were truly her kids. They brought her endless comfort, joy, and unconditional love, and held a permanent place in her heart. Family and Friends are invited for Visitation at Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main St., Somers, CT on Monday, July 21, 2025 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm.
