Patricia Caine Obituary
Patricia "Patty" Ann Caine
October 4, 1936 – May 22, 2025
Patricia "Patty" Ann (Marshall) Caine passed away peacefully and went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 22, 2025, at Avon Health Center. Born in Torrington, Connecticut, she was the beloved daughter of John and Victoria Marshall.
In 1963, Patty married William "Dobber" Caine, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter in Winsted. She worked for years at Hitchcock Chair and as a housekeeper for local families. She had been a resident of Canton, CT for the past 25 years.
Patty will be remembered for her playful spirit, sharp wit, and generous heart-always ready with a meal, a laugh or a prank. She loved gardening, baking, fishing, and playing cards, and trips to the Casino, but nothing brought her more joy than time with her children and grandchildren.
Patty was predeceased by her husband, Dobber, and siblings Ginny LaLime, Ray Marshall, Bob Marshall, Annie Caine, Shirley LaCasse, Vicky Noble, Betty Pacocha and John Marshall. She is survived by her children, Kim Rexford (Bruce) and Laurie Caine of Canton, CT, Bill Caine of Upper Sandusky, OH and grandchildren Evan Rexford and Katie Caine (Avery Burks). She also leaves behind her brother Rowland Marshall (Sherry), and sisters Lorraine Crunden and Genny Wald as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Avon Health Center, who cared for Mom with such dignity, humor, and love. Her aides and nurses on North Wing were some of her favorite people to laugh and joke with.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 31, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted followed by a funeral service at 12:30 PM. Burial will take place at Forest View Cemetery in Winsted immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to the Avon Health Center Resident Council, in honor of Patty's memory and the care she received while a resident there. Visit an online guestbook at montano-shea.com.
