Raul B. Calderon-Tapia

Raul B. Calderon Tapia, 71, of Ecuador, passed away peacefully August 29, 2025 at the home of his daughter with his family by his side. Raul was born in Guaraynag Paute, Ecuador on January 25, 1954, a son of the late Aurora Tapia +and Abel Cesario Calderon Albear+. Raul worked as a sheriff before becoming a CDL Teacher in Ecuador. He loved fishing and gardening, but nothing was more important to him than spending time with his grandchildren. Raul is survived by his children, Raul Calderon and his wife, Laurie, of Waterbury, Viviana Calderon and her husband, Fabian, of Wallingford and Fernando Calderon and his partner, Karen, of Ecuador; his siblings, Abel Calderon+, Blanca Calderon+, Daniel Calderon, Ligia Calderon, Zoila Calderon, Digna Calderon, Raquel Calderon, Libia Calderon, Abdon Calderon, Kety Calderon; his grandchildren, Raul E, Alex, Fabian, Dayana, Juan Fernando, Vanesa, Fernando, Megan, Catalina, Shayla, Izabella; and many nieces and nephews. Raul's family will receive relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext. on Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 8:30 am until 10 am. His funeral procession will then proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Interment will be private in Ecuador.
