Rita M. Spindler

Rita M. Spindler, 68, of Coventry, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 12, 2025, surrounded by love. She was the beloved wife of Joseph Booth, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage. Born in Hartford, Rita was the daughter of the late Sebastian and Eleanor (Eisenbuchner) Spindler. She was raised in Newington and was a proud graduate of the local school system. In 1983, she made Coventry her home, where she built a life filled with love, family, and quiet joys. Rita was a devoted mother who found happiness in the simple things - feeding wildlife, nurturing her garden, spending time with the animals she cherished and cooking and baking for family and friends. Her kindness extended beyond her family to the many creatures who visited her yard, from squirrels and chipmunks to the beloved pets who were part of her life. Her basset hounds, Barney and Haus, and her rabbit Benny held a special place in her heart. She will be deeply missed by her husband Joseph, her son Brian Booth and his wife Kate, and her beloved granddaughter Jocelyn, of Cromwell. She also leaves behind her sister, Eleanore Spindler and her partner Jim Kane of Newington, and many dear friends and neighbors who will remember her warmth and gentle spirit. Funeral services will be private, entrusted to Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington.
