Robert Collins Obituary

Robert "Rob" W. Collins, Jr., 62, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 in Newington, CT. He was born December 10, 1962 in Hartford, the son of the late Robert and Joan Collins of Wethersfield. Rob is survived by his sister, Cathy Brown and her late husband Samuel of Peoria, AZ, her children Julie Darden and husband Jacob of Avondale, AZ and Evan Brown of Peoria, AZ, as well as extended family. Rob graduated from Wethersfield High School in 1980 and worked for the family-owned Beacon Cafe in Hartford, CT. He went on to work for Stop and Shop Supermarkets for many years and was a proud Teamster. Rob was a diehard fan of the New York Giants, enjoyed the sheer silliness of the Three Stooges, and was a natural born entertainer himself with a charismatic personality. He was a very generous soul to anyone in need. He will be forever missed. The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday October 9, 2025, 10:00 – 11:00 am at the Rose Hill Funeral Home 580 Elm St. Rocky Hill, CT 06067. A chapel service and burial will follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Park.
