Robert Fellows Obituary

Robert A. Fellows July 4, 1934 – February 27, 2025 Robert A. Fellows (Bob) was born on the Fourth of July, a fitting day for someone who had a way of making an impression wherever he went. He never met a stranger and could turn even the simplest story into something worth hearing-often adding just enough detail with each telling to keep his audience entertained. He is survived by his daughter, Karen Campagna, his sons, Jeffrey Fellows and Gregory Fellows, his brother, Richard Fellows, as well as eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. People remembered him not just for his stories but for his kindness and willingness to help whenever he could. Bob spent his childhood on a farm in Oakdale, MA, before attending high school in Worcester. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959, stationed in Guam and Southern California. After his service, he moved to Hudson, NH, where he worked as a Technical Writer for Sanders Associates, writing manuals for some of the most advanced technology of the time. In retirement, he moved to Sarasota, FL, and traveled the country in his camper. He loved traveling! Never one to sit still for long, he started making organic dog treats and selling them at several local stores. He found joy in working on new projects and meeting new people along the way. Bob had a strong commitment to service. Throughout his life, he was deeply involved in his church, leading outreach programs to help the homeless. Whether it was to find permanent housing, furniture, food, or even get a bus ticket home, he was always there when he received the call that someone needed help. He was also a volunteer firefighter in Hudson, NH, and gave his time to Habitat for Humanity and his local community. He will be remembered for his generosity, his work ethic, and the way he could bring people together with a good story. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and the many lives he touched. A graveside service will be held on May 24, 2025 at 10:00 am in Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown where full military honors will be accorded. In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's memory may be made to Rocky Hill VA Recreation Fund, 287 West Street, Rocky Hill, CT 06067 or https://portal.ct.gov/dva/donations/veterans-donation-form?language=en_US .
