Robert E. "Bob" Kelly

Robert Kelly, age 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. A dedicated educator, Robert was a retired Industrial Arts teacher from the Bristol Public School system. He was truly "always a teacher" - inspiring generations with his passion for learing, creativity, and most importantly kindness. A lifelong learner himself, he always embraced new knowledge and skills. A man of many talents, Robert loved to create-whether it was crafting, carpentry, or restoring furniture, houses or cars. He found joy in building and fixing things, especially for those he loved. His garage was his workshop and sanctuary, where he brought his visions to life with creativity, skill, and patience. Faithful to family and friends, and deeply devoted to his faith, Robert treasured family time, hikes around the lake, and quiet moments spent reading while drinking his tea. Above all, he cherished his role as a father and grandfather and found great joy in time spent with them - whether he was sharing stories, building something special, or simply sitting in his favorite chair, surrounded by their love. Robert was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Parish and a proud member of organizations such as the Elks Club and Jacklin Rod and Gun Club. He also served in the US Marine Corps Reserves. His faith and community involvement were meaningful parts of his life and a reflection of his loyal spirit. He was deeply devoted to his family, sharing 57 years of marriage with his wife, Judy (Macklosky) Kelly. He leaves behind three children and their spouses, Mary (Kelly) and Kevin McCormick, Kristen (Kelly) and Keith M'Sadoques, and Brian and Tina (Scaramuzza) Kelly, and six grandchildren Kyle and Kelly, Maura and Conor, and Ava and Erin, each of whom brought him endless pride and joy. He is also survived by many extended family members and a few close lifelong friends - all of whom were a meaningful part of his life. Robert's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him - as a teacher, a lifelong learner, a man of faith, and above all, a devoted friend and family man. May his legacy of hard work, creativity, curiosity, and love continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know him.
