Robert B. Price

Robert B. Price passed away on September 15, 2025, from complications of dementia. He was born in Holyoke, MA, on July 28, 1941, son of Edward Price and Elizabeth Price. He grew up in Manchester, CT, and graduated from Manchester High School in1959 and New Haven College 1966. He was married to Susan Galligan, whom he met when they were teenagers. Besides his beloved wife he is survived by a son Rob (Ivanna Fabiani) from West Hartford and a daughter Kristen from Studio City, CA. He is also survived by a grandson Evan from Wethersfield, two step-grandsons, Lucas Fabiani from Brazil, and Thomas Fabiani-Pontes from West Hartford and several nieces and nephews. Bob was a mechanical engineer formerly employed by Jacobs Mfg. for many years and later was a self-employed engineering consultant for other companies. He was credited for numerous patents related to large vehicle braking systems. In earlier years, Bob started racing boats competitively before his teens. Drag raced his own car which broke a national record. The next season he drove a drag racing car for Tasca Ford of Providence, RI, and then drove Moriarty Brothers "Big Red" drag racing cars for three seasons. He was also involved with the Manchester Soap Box Derby with his son and daughter, Bob served on Manchester's Democratic Town Committee for many years and was elected to Manchester's Board of Directors for two terms. He also served on Manchester's Conservation Commission and the Planning Commission. He was a former member of the Elks Club in Manchester. Bob's long-time passion was playing tennis in Manchester and at their condo at the Delray Beach Racquet Club in Delray Beach, FL.
