Rose Geryk

Rose Geryk (nee Wiesztort), 94, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025 at Pioneer Valley Health and Rehabilitation of South Hadley. She is the daughter of the late Vincent and Anna (Mish) Weisztort and grew up in Florence, Massachusetts. Rose was predeceased by Henry Geryk, Sr, 89, her husband of 67 years, who died in 2017.
Rose was a graduate of Northampton High School and received an associates degree in business from Holyoke Community College. She started her career as an x-ray technician, and later worked at and retired from the U.S Postal Service in Springfield, though her favorite 'job' was being a mother and grandmother ('Babci').
A sociable lady with a lovely smile and a big heart, Rose loved having her friends and family around and hosted many gatherings over the years. She also enjoyed meeting up with her childhood pals, the 'Florence Girls' and was a communicant of Our Lady of The Valley church in Easthampton.
Rose loved music and learned to play the piano in her later years. She and her husband were accomplished ballroom dancers for many years. Rose was proud of her polish heritage and enjoyed good polish food and a lively polka. Throughout her life, she traveled extensively in Europe, Mexico and the United States.
She is survived by her children; daughter Ann Rosener and her husband, Thomas Rosener, of Virginia; daughter Frances Hebert and her husband, Henry Hebert, of Sunderland; son Henry Geryk, Jr. and his wife, Anna, of Westhampton; daughter Martha Geryk and her longtime companion, Mike Plaisance of Holyoke; son Nathan Geryk and his longtime companion, Kelly Autieri, of Arizona. She also leaves eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she as predeceased by five siblings.
Rose's family would like to thank her long-time care-givers, Lisa Simmons and Lisa Sansouci, for their loving attention, compassion and friendship.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of The Valley church, 33 Adams St., Easthampton. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at St. Mary's Cemetery in Northampton.
There are no calling hours.
The Boucher-O'Brien Funeral Home in Easthampton is handling her arrangements.
