Rosemary Kelly Obituary

Rosemary M. (Plunkett) Kelly, 84, passed away unexpectedly on June 9, 2025. Born in Waltham, Massachusetts on February 7, 1941, the daughter of the late Robert J. and Margaret (Kiley) Plunkett. Rosemary was a 1960 graduate of Watertown High School and went on to receive her associate's degree from Garland Junior College. Rosemary's greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren, who lovingly called her Roro. A beacon of unwavering optimism, she was the epitome of a glass overflowing and her energy was contagious. She was the ultimate hostess, loved an impromptu visit and always found a reason to bring people together. Her home was always welcoming, open to friends and family alike. Rosemary is survived by her son; Tom Kelly and his wife Abby of West Simsbury, two daughters, Christine Gallagher and her husband Gregory of East Granby, and Jennifer Kelly and her husband, Michael McHale of Granby; daughter-in-law Jennifer Kelly of North Smithfield, RI; her brother Christopher Plunkett and his wife Nancy of Topsfield, MA; twelve grandchildren whom she adored, Claire, Thomas "TJ", Adam, and Danny Kelly all of West Simsbury, Aidan, Declan, and Emmett Gallagher all of East Granby, Audrey, Laurel, and Annabella "Bells" Kelly all of Wrentham, MA, and Callum and Jovie McHale of Granby; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends who considered her a second mom. She was predeceased by her parents, her son, Garrett Kelly, her brothers, Barry, Gregory, Merrill, and Robert Plunkett, and her former husband Thomas Kelly. Her family will receive friends on Sunday June 15, 2025 from 2-5 p.m., at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St., Granby. Family and friends may gather on Monday, June 16, 9 a.m. at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., at St. Therese Church, 120 W. Granby Road, Granby, CT 06035. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
