Rudolph Kuraska Obituary

Rudolph S. Kuraska, JD, 93 of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. He was the beloved husband of 67 years to Mary Ellen (McMullen) Kuraska. Rudolph was born on December 21, 1931 in Bridgeport, CT, a son of the late Rudolph W. and Anne (Gallick) Kuraska. He had resided in Suffield for the past 5 years, in Enfield since 1962 and Bridgeport before that. Rudy graduated from Fairfield Preparatory School in 1950, Fairfield University Class of 1959 -BBA Degree, and Western New England School of Law Class of1972 -J.D. Degree. Rudolph was a veteran of the Korean War having served proudly with the U.S. Marine Corps, Rudy as a member of the 1st Marine Division Recon Unit experienced real war head on at "The Chosen Reservoir". He and others were awarded Certificate of Ambassador for Peace Medal by the Republic of Korea. Rudy was employed with Combustion Engineering as Manager of Fed. And State Audits, and retired from Digital Equipment Corp. as a Tax Attorney. He served in the Town of Enfield for 25 years on the Board of Assessment Appeals as chairman. His family would thank the Staff at the Suffield House for the kind and compassionate care, especially Trish and June who treated Rudy like family and provided the absolute best care. Besides his beloved wife, Rudy is survived by his two children: Stephen Kuraska & his wife Lisa of Ellington, CT, and Betsy Nosal & her husband Michael of Somers, CT, his four cherished grandchildren: Jillian Mariano and husband John, Meredith Gresh and husband Michael, Grace Kuraska, and Bridget Nosal, and three adored great grandchildren: Elle, Ava, and James. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by a brother Robert J. Kuraska. Funeral services for Rudy will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 with calling hours from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by a Prayer Service at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Interment with Military Honors will then take place in St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery, Enfield.
