Ruth E. Maylott

Ruth E. Maylott, 96, of Enfield, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital. Born on July 18, 1929, in Enfield, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Sarah (Cowdell) Maylott, Sr. and was a lifelong resident of the community she loved. Ruth retired from Enfield Federal Savings after 15 years of dedicated service. A faithful parishioner of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Longmeadow, she was also an active member of the Enfield Historical Society and the Ionic Chapter #100 of the Order of the Eastern Star. In her youth, she proudly participated as a Girl Scout with Thompsonville Troop #1. An avid Boston Red Sox fan and the biggest fan of Ted Williams, Ruth also enjoyed reading about British history and solving crossword puzzles. She is survived by her nephews, Michael Maylott and his wife Robbyn of Telford, TN, and Jonathan Maylott and his wife Judy of Somers, CT. In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her brother, George H. Maylott, Jr. in 1999. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to friends and family who assisted with Ruth's care over the last few years, especially Trudi Barton, Rita Cheverier and her Cottage Green Neighbors, Fred and Rita Stone. Relatives and friends may join the family on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 10:00 – 11:00 am at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 335 Longmeadow St, Longmeadow, MA 01106.
