Samuel Anderson Obituary

On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, Deacon Samuel T. Anderson, Jr. transitioned from his earthly life. He was born on April 9,1952, in Gastonia, NC, to the late Samuel T. Anderson, Sr. and Mary Francis Cloud Anderson. Later, he moved to New Haven, CT, to live with his uncle, the late Apostle H. Cloud, and his family. From an early age, Sammy was immersed in love, faith, and a strong sense of community. His profound passion for music inspired everyone around him. He was very adventurous and loved life. Sammy enjoyed traveling with the United House of Prayer, fishing, riding his bike, and cars. Most of all he loved his personal travels and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. A dedicated servant to others, Sammy was a lifelong member of the United House of Prayer for All People. He was a great supporter of the church's work and was often found as one of the top contributors in New Haven. Seeking to expand his services within the church, and driven by his bold and courageous spirit, Sammy first took the role as Church Military Peace Officer before evolving into that of a National Organizational Peace Officer within the church. Additionally, he served as both a Deacon and Male Usher. Since 1997, Sammy was a proud member of King Solomon Masonic Lodge, where he initially served as Tyler and later achieved the esteemed rank of 32nd Degree Mason. Throughout his long career at Yale University, he made a lasting impact before his retirement. His unwavering kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered, and his zest for life will never be forgotten. The legacy of love, compassion, and vitality he leaves behind will continue to inspire all who have the privilege of knowing him. In addition to his parents, Sammy was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael D. Anderson and Russell D. Anderson; and one sister, Yolanda Regina Robinson-Good. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 25 years, Bridget L. Anderson; five daughters, Lu'Kisha Rena Anderson, Chandrika Delia Anderson, Natasha Corrine Randolph, Carolyn Jenita Thompson, and Bianca Shirae Anderson; twelve grandchildren; one special son, David Rogers; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
