Sandor "Shone" Nemeth

Sandor "Shone" Nemeth, 65, husband of Linda Nemeth for 25 years, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025, peacefully at home. Born in Meriden on June 19, 1959, he was the son of Virginia and the late Sandor Nemeth. He had resided in Durham and graduated from Platt High School, Class of 1977. He was employed by the United States Postal Service for 40 years, retiring in 2024. He proudly served with the U.S. Navy and worked on the USS Midway. Shone loved his coffee and would drink it all day long. He cherished spending time with family. He was very outgoing and could talk to anyone about anything. Shone had his own unique sense of humor. He was proud to be left-handed. He enjoyed playing chess and gardening. He was an avid fisherman, and his favorite football team was the New England Patriots. Besides his loving wife, Linda, he is survived by his two children, AJ Nemeth and Christopher Nemeth; his sister, Magda Magnotta (Paul); his nephew, Joshua Magnotta (Olga); and his great niece, Bella Magnotta. Shone was predeceased by his father, Sandor Nemeth; his stepfather, Harold Mathers; his brother, Janos Zoltan Nemeth; and his cousin, Micklos Vojuoda. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, May 30th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be held on Monday, June 2nd at 1 p.m. at St. John Cemetery, 400 Christian St., Wallingford, CT 06492.
