Sokhoeun Lepage Obituary

On the morning of Tuesday, February 4, 2025, Sokhoeun "Sue" Lach Lepage of Windsor, Connecticut passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Born in Cambodia on March 18, 1967, Sue came to the United States when she was eight years old, an orphan, where she was shortly thereafter adopted by Edwedge Zizzamia and her late husband Michael. Sue lived in Hartford before moving to Windsor in 1982. Growing up with her siblings and extended family, she loved trips to Cape Cod, bike rides, playing outside and listening to music with her family and friends. She loved spending time with her grandparents and looking out for her younger siblings. She was fiercely protective of her loved ones, a trait she carried throughout her life. Sue's younger years were spent sharing laughter and love, music and dance, sports and fun competitions. Sue's love for her family, her deep-rooted dedication and kindness, and her ability to share a smile or a laugh guided her not only in her childhood but in her later career choice. She graduated from Windsor High School in 1985 and then continued her education at Central Connecticut State University, graduating with the class of 1989. A devoted mother, wife, daughter, and sister, Sue defined her life by how much she could give back to the world, and had an endless and unconditional love for her family. She loved her career as a Therapeutic Recreation Supervisor, which saw her working in various nursing homes in the Hartford County area caring for the elderly, and through this she made countless friends. Sue loved to dance free for the world to see, blast The Beatles and Jon Bon Jovi, and was always there to be someone to laugh with, or offer a shoulder to cry on. Throughout her life, she crossed paths with many, but even if only for a couple minutes, any and all would come to know her as an unbelievably kind, selfless, funny, and wonderful woman. Sue is survived by her beloved husband of 21 years, Peter Mark Lepage, her sons Riley Hansen and his fiance Kim, and Zachary Hansen, two grandsons Davey and Hendrix Hansen and their mother Laina, her mother Edwedge Zizzamia, her mother-in-law Muriel Lepage, two sisters Anthea Grotton and her husband Scott, and Rosanna Zizzamia Wilson and her husband Tyler, two brothers Michael Zizzamia and his wife Pamela, Christopher Zizzamia and his wife Marybeth; her sister and brothers-in-law, Janice Lepage-Wood and her husband Jay, and Richard Lepage, and her best friend since childhood, Rita Brooks-Scully. She was a proud aunt to Ruby, Joshua, Elizabeth, Dhara, Leena, Kay, Kaitlyn, Christopher, and Darien. Her extended family includes many, many loved relatives, both chosen and blood. Her family will receive friends on Saturday, February 15th, 10 a.m.-12 p.m, followed by a Celebration of Life at 12 p.m., at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. Burial will be private. In her final years, Sue stood face to face with her cancer diagnosis and fought with tenacity, courage, and a fierce will to live, spending each day free of regret, and in the arms of her beloved family and friends. May we all strive to honor her memory by spreading kindness and love in all aspects of life. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Sokhoeun, please visit our floral store.

Sue was a neighbor and babysitter when our family lived on Nook Farms Road. She was a kind, funny, sweet and positive person who was always fun to be around. I remember her bringing us up into her room in the Zizzamia house, and playing tons of records for us. She definitely turned me onto some great stuff that's still with me today. My thoughts are with her family who were always so kind to me. They have endured such loss recently, but I know memories of Sue will help get them through.

My condolences to the family I just pictured Sue pushing the resident in the wheelchair to and from recreation with a smile on her face

Sue was my supervisor for a couple of years and also happened to be a terrific person. She treated her staff and everyone else there with kindness, generosity and compassion & had a healthy sense of humor as well. She was also always upbeat and positive and generally a lovely human being. I know that she will most definitely be missed. My sympathy goes out to all of her much beloved family members and all of those who called her friend during her lifetime.
