Steve Gordon Obituary

Steve Benton Gordon, 57, of Hartford, CT, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Born on January 14, 1968, in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Steve was the beloved son of the late Renaldo Gordon and the late Enid (née Chalwell) Gordon. He was the eldest of three children and was affectionately known for his island warmth and generous spirit. Steve relocated to Connecticut, where he met the love of his life. Together, they shared over 25 years of partnership filled with love, laughter, and deep devotion. Steve was known for his quiet strength, kind humor, and unwavering commitment to his family and friends. His life reflected resilience, dignity, and a dedication to uplifting those around him. He worked diligently to provide for his loved ones and was admired for his generosity, his words of encouragement, and his loyalty as a friend. Steve earned a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Hartford. He was employed by Vertiv for several years, where he played an essential role in building infrastructure for computer networks. Steve's greatest joy came from the simple things in life: spending time in his beloved home of Tortola, British Virgin Islands, playing video games, listening to audiobooks, and watching Marvel cartoons and movies. He enjoyed dining out and treasured every moment spent with his family. Steve lived a life of faith, gratitude, and integrity, leaving behind a legacy of love that will endure for generations. He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Gordon, and his cherished children: Aaliyah Monique Gordon, Kailey Gordon, and Jonathan Gordon. He was a proud grandfather to Melian Gardner and Matayus Williams. He is also survived by his sister, Sherise M. Gordon (Marlon K. Strong). Steve will be dearly missed by his aunts: Delmena, Denicia, Daphne, and Stephanie Chalwell, and uncles: Rex (Cynthia), Simpson Brannigan, David, Claudius (Ina), Leopold (Miss Joe), Robert (Minvera), and Bishop Commet Chalwell (Laurecia). Also mourning his passing are his beloved mother-in-law, Emma Walker (late Eddie Walker), sisters-in-law: Constance (Kenny) Jones, Cynthia Walker, and Sonia (Corey) Turner, and many nieces and nephews including Crystal and Sara Millien, Jessica Otto, Hannah Jones, Jordan, and Jaylese Turner; great uncle: Carter, Chloe, Hailey, and Skylar Otto along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will be fondly remembered by special cousins whom he loved like siblings: Kenneth Chalwell, Jacqueline Reason, Kenrico Wheatly Sr., Dorna Wheatly John, Andria Chalwell, Andrew Chalwell, and Jassin Penn, and lifetime friends: Robert Griggs, Gary Lumpkin, and Warren "Munchie" Raynor.
