Steven Phelon Obituary

Steven R. Phelon, 62, of Granby, beloved husband of Sandra L. (Smith) Phelon, passed away unexpectedly on September 22, 2025. Born in Granby on July 31, 1963, the son of the late Richard A. Phelon and Patricia J. (Monteith) Renaudette. Steven attended Southwick High School. Steve had a long and successful career as a plumber, working for several different employers over the course of his career. Steve enjoyed all things related to Cars, especially, drag racing his 1983 Monte Carlo at Lebanon Valley Speedway. He also enjoyed NASCAR and his favorite driver was the late Dale Earnhardt Sr. However, Steven's greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. Steve is survived by his wife of 12 years, Sandra L. (Smith) Phelon of Granby, his stepchildren, Thomas D. Kittelsen and his wife Kelsey of Phoenix, AZ, Teeja D. Whitty of Granby and Amanda L. Stone and her husband Hunter of Granby, his grandchildren, Hailey J. Kittelsen, Mackenzie L. Stone, Emery D. Whitty, Terra A. Kittelsen and Tucker W. Stone, his in-laws, Emery and Judy Smith, his sister, Kathleen Brooks and her husband Alan of Southwick, Zachary Phelon of Maine and his niece Megan A. Phelon of Granby. He was predeceased by his step-father, George Renaudette. To friends and family of Steve Phelon, there will be a Celebration of Life Oct. 10, 2025 at the Grill at Copper Hill, 20 Copper Hill Rd, E. Granby, CT, from 4-8pm. Steven's family requests that everyone dress casual and wear their favorite race hats and shirts.
