Susan Veretto Obituary

WINSTED – Susan T. Veretto, 80, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 9, 2025 after a brief illness. She was the loving wife of the late Leon Veretto for 30 years. Born November 13, 1944 in New York; the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (Esturonne) Trent. Susan graduated from The University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Nursing. Her career as a Registered Nurse spanned over 50 years. She dedicated her life to caring for others and found deep purpose in her work at Highland Acres in Winsted, CT and Noble Horizons in Salisbury, CT. She enjoyed watching UCONN Basketball with Leon, tending to their impressive vegetable garden, crafting both jewelry and flower arrangements and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, John Pierce and wife Janet of NH, Leonard Pierce and wife Marybeth of ME, Brian Pierce and wife Lisa of HI, Jennifer Forde and husband John of AU and Bethany Pierce of CT; siblings, Renee Trent and husband Webb of VA, Robert Trent and partner Mack of DE and Jeffrey Trent of MI; step- children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held privately at Forest View Cemetery in Winsted. Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted, CT has care of the arrangements.
