Tara Hall-Pettway Obituary

SEYMOUR, CT - Tara Hall-Pettway, age 41, of Seymour, entered into peaceful rest on August 24, 2025. The beloved wife of Tevell Pettway. Born on December 4, 1983, in New Haven, CT, Tara was the cherished daughter of William and Maureen (Fitzgerald) Heaney of Oxford. She worked as a dedicated Personal Care Aide and formerly served with joy at SONCCA after-school care in Seymour, where she touched the lives of many children with her kindness and laughter. Tara will be remembered for her giving spirit and her ability to put the needs of others before her own. She had a genuine love for music, a wonderful sense of humor, and a heart that radiated warmth. Known for her compassion, she found joy in helping others and always greeted those around her with kindness. Her love for animals was also evident, especially for her cherished cats, Tellulla, Charlee, and Seven. Those who knew Tara best describe her as a bright light in any room she entered. She had the rare gift of making people feel seen, valued, and loved. Whether she was sharing a laugh, lending a helping hand, or simply listening with an open heart, Tara left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Her life was a true reflection of generosity, selflessness, and joy. Tara also held family close to her heart and treasured every moment spent with her loved ones. She found comfort and happiness in gathering for family traditions, celebrating milestones, and creating cherished memories that will live on for years to come. Her role as a daughter, sister, wife, and friend was one she carried with great pride, and her love will continue to be felt across generations. In addition to her loving husband and parents, Tara leaves behind her brother, John Heaney of Woodbury, CT. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Nelaine Clark- Hines (Glenn) of Ansonia, CT; her father-in-law, Nehemiah Pettway (Camille) of Lawrenceville, GA; brothers-in-law Trey and Glenn of Ansonia; sisters-in-law Tasmin of New Haven, and Nia and Audrey of Lawrenceville, GA; as well as a host of beloved cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. Tara's legacy of love, laughter, and selflessness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Calling Hours will be Sunday, September 7, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. A Memorial Service in celebration of Tara's life will immediately follow at the funeral home at 3:00 PM. Memorial Gifts may be sent to The Senior Paw Project. Please share a memory at www.hullfh.com
