THOMASTON
Teresa Rinaldi
"Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, & aunt"
Teresa (Legorano) Rinaldi, 72, of Thomaston, formerly of Waterbury, was reunited with her husband in heaven on Friday, September 12, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife to the late Rocco Rinaldi who predeceased her in 2006.
Born in Montesarchio, Benevento, Italy, on February 12, 1953, Teresa was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Raffaela (Rungi) Legorano. After marrying her husband, Rocco, in 1974, the two of them made the courageous journey to the United States in hopes of a better life to start and raise a family. Settling in Waterbury, Teresa and Rocco raised their two boys in the North End. Being a devote Catholic, Teresa was a longtime and faithful communicant of St. Lucy's Church.
Staying true to her Italian heritage, Teresa was unbelievable with cooking and baking Italian cuisine. She was famous for her biscotti, delicious sauce, her homemade pizza, and rum cake. Having a green thumb, Teresa was a talented gardener, always using the fruits of her labor in her cooking, as well to give to friends and family to enjoy. She loved spending time with her friends, and taking trips to the casino. Above anything else in the world, nothing meant more to Teresa than being "Nonni" to her two beloved grandchildren, whom she absolutely adored.
Teresa leaves behind to cherish her memory her two sons, Anthony Rinaldi and his wife Desiree of Thomaston, John Rinaldi of Thomaston, and her two grandchildren, Arianna and Rocco Rinaldi. She also leaves behind her siblings, Luigi Legorano Sr. of Waterbury, Lucia Addona and her husband Giuseppe of Waterbury, Rosa Guerrera and her husband Francesco of Waterbury, and her siblings in Italy, Vincenzo Legorano, Maria Iannace and her husband Pasquale, Antonio Legorano, Alessandra Cardone and her husband Giovanni, Michele Legorano and his wife Cristina, Salvatore Legorano and his wife Nicolina, Ciro Legorano and his wife Immaculata, and Gioconda Legorano, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
