Theofilaktos Giannakopoulos

Theofilaktos Giannakopoulos, 94, of Wethersfield, CT beloved husband of the late Georgia Giannakopoulos passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025 at home. Theofilaktos was born in Tsotili Greece and immigrated with his family to the U.S. in 1968. He was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Hartford, CT. Theofilaktos is survived by his daughter Maria Stavropoulos and her husband Theodoros and daughter-in-law Peggy Giannakopoulos. He was a beloved Papou to his grandchildren, Yeorgia and husband Adrian Ackles, Eleftheria and husband Kevin Bair, Theophilos Giannakopoulos and wife Shannon, Thomas Giannakopoulos and wife Katie and his 4 great-grandchildren, Arthur, Zoe, Leo and Vangelis. Theofilaktos was also predeceased by his son Angelos Giannakopoulos, his sisters Elizabeth, Polixeni, and Livia and brother Evangelos, his in-laws Spiros and Efstathia Tzickas, Iraklis and Tula Mantziaris. Funeral service for Theofilaktos will be held Monday, May 12, 2025 at 11:30 am at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 433 Fairfield Ave., Hartford, CT. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Monday from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.
