Theresa Bainer Obituary

Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother Theresa A. Bainer, 89, Matriarch of the Bainer Family in Prospect, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital on June 21, 2025. She was the widow of Frank J. Bainer Sr., and was born on September 11, 1935 in New Haven, the daughter of the late Leo Huber and Bertha (Letzelter) and she was predeceased by her sister Elizabeth Phillips. Theresa is survived by her daughter Mary Gale (Gary) of Hampton Beach New Hampshire, her son Frank J. Bainer Jr. (Lisa) of Prospect, and son Mark Bainer of Largo Florida. She leaves her grandchildren Gary Gale Jr. (Meghan), Jessica Gale (John), Frank C. Bainer (Tara), Steven Bainer (Kelly), Marissa Sanchez (Juan), Nichole Baker (Adam), Brett Bainer (David) and her great-grandchildren Liliana and Jonathan Gutierrez, Brady and Carson Bainer, Gabriella and Adalyn Bainer, Croy Baker, Joaquin, Zoey and Joshua Sanchez, her faithful grand-dog Yo-yo and her long time best friend Mary Pavlowski of Naugatuck. Theresa retired from the Southern New England Telephone after 25 years in Operator Services. She was a member of the Prospect Senior Center, a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Prospect and faithfully said her daily rosary. Theresa was deeply devoted to her family, and one of her greatest joys was starting each day by making coffee and sharing breakfast at the family compound. A talented cook and an award-winning baker, her legendary Christmas cookies were a cherished tradition and simply unmatched. A lifelong Boston Red Sox fan, Theresa also loved curling up with a good book or enjoying a game of Bingo. She treasured every moment spent with her loved ones-whether playing with her great-grandchildren, vacationing with family, enjoying lunch outings, or hunting for treasures in thrift stores. She will be missed by all that were blessed to have known and loved her. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27,2025 from 8:30AM to 10:30 AM at Prospect Memorial/The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 122 Waterbury Rd., Prospect followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30AM at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, 4 Union City Rd., Prospect. Internment will immediately follow at Prospect Cemetery.
