Theresa Behr Obituary

Oakville, CT Theresa A. Behr "Beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother" Theresa A. (LeClerc) Behr, died peacefully at Complete Care at Glendale on August 16, 2025. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, William Behr, Sr. Theresa was born in Waterbury, CT, a daughter of the late Louis and Medora (Gendreau) LeClerc. She leaves to hold her memories, her five children, Susan Steward (Joe), Raymond Behr (Janet), Debbie Behr, Teresa Capone (Bob) and William Behr, Jr., 10 grandchildren Alyssa Izzo (Joe), David Sirois, Jennifer LaCapra (Joey), William Behr III (Kristen), Jessica Capone (Katherine), Kristen Behr, Kimberly Caiazzo (Jared), Maryann Kochanowski, Brad Steward (Em) and Stephen Behr (Shay) and 9 great grandchildren, John, Juliana, Travis, Kinley, Leo, Olivia, Saverio, Lola and Caden. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was pre-deceased by her only sister, Doris Boucher and two brothers, Robert and Maurice LeClerc. Theresa's true heart was with her family. Her favorite times were spent vacationing with her husband in Hampton Beach, going on cruises and cooking sauce every Sunday to bring her family together. She loved listening to music, audiobooks and playing cards with her cousins. She made lots of friends and had many laughs playing bingo. Theresa always looked forward to her monthly lunch dates at Carmen Anthony's of Woodbury for her lobster rolls with her three daughters, She took much joy in watching her son, Raymond coach for 30+ years. Before losing her eyesight, Theresa knitted many blankets and sweaters for her grandchildren. She also loved cross stitch, where she made pillows, table runners and framed pictures for her family. Despite surviving polio at the age of 3, losing her mother at the young age of 21 and her eyesight in 2018, she never complained. She was our rock. We will love and miss her always. We would like to thank all of the staff at Complete Care at Glendale for the excellent care given to our mother. Arrangements: A prayer service for Theresa will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT. Theresa and I attended grammar and high schools together. In later years I would pick her up home and we would meet a few high school friends for lunch at Friendly´s. I am the only person left of that group. Our times together were precious. May she rest peacefully in the arms of our Lord.
