Thomas N. Bender

Thomas N. Bender passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, August 16th, 2025. He was born in Wallingford, CT on October 29, 1947, the son of Alexander and Margaret Bender, and brother to the late John Bender. He was the proud father of Lynn (Bill) Wilson, and was predeceased by his daughter, Tina Segaline, and his son, Phillip Gregory. Thomas is survived by his longtime companion, Donna (Corriveau) Bender and her daughter, Danielle (Chris) Tully; her grandson, Gary (Candace) Lowozski and their children; his grandchildren, Justin (Brianna) Brush and Mackenzie Wilson; and his great grandchildren, Colton and Everly Brush. He is also survived by his sister, Carol (Rich) Embacher; and his niece, Jessica Embacher. Thomas was proud of his service in the U.S Navy, and put forth 36 years at Yale New Haven Hospital. Thomas especially loved spending time at his second home in Fort Pierce, Florida. Whether it was taking the pontoon boat out for a spin, watching the dolphins by his dock, or going to The Manatee for happy hour, Thomas knew how to enjoy his island time. Like one of his favorite songs, Thomas certainly had a wonderful "Walk of Life" and will be dearly missed by all. His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., on Friday, August 22nd from 9:00 – 11:00am. His funeral service will begin at 11:00am followed by interment in In Memoriam Cemetery, Wallingford.
