Thomas E. Flannery

Thomas Edward Flannery Sr. of Manchester passed away peacefully in his home on June 25, 2025. Thomas was born to the late Dennis and Beatrice (Walsh) Flannery. Thomas earned a master's degree in mathematics from Fairfield University. In the early part of his career, he was a camp counselor at Singing Oaks in Weston, CT, and worked as a high school mathematics teacher at Trumbull High. Thomas went on to become a successful sales coordinator with Reader's Digest and held this position until his retirement. His greatest joy was event planning, planning countless parties, family reunions, trips around the world, beer camp, and his infamous trips to Newport with family and friends, especially his lady friends. He was extremely proud of his Irish heritage and his UCONN Huskies. Thomas lived his life his way, and his childhood stories reminded us of Tom Sawyer. He had a way about him that could get you to paint a fence for him and thank him for the experience. His passion for life was unmatched and he lived it. Brer Rabbit would have been proud. Thomas would have wanted everyone to have a cold beer, and remember a time spent with him, filled with laughter. Thomas is survived by his children, Thomas E. (Kelly) Flannery Jr, Kathleen (Joshua) Raymond, and Kelly (Zach) Blain, his two brothers, Dennis, and William (Elizabeth) Flannery, his grandchildren, Avery Flannery, Theo Blain, Thomas J. Flannery, Alex Blain, and Jack Raymond. Thomas is predeceased by daughter-in-law Holly Flannery and granddaughter Kylie Flannery.
