Thomas Lessard Obituary

Thomas John Lessard, 59, passed away, April 22, 2025 at his home in Huntington, MA, after a long illness with his loving wife by his side. Born on January 12, 1966, in Springfield, MA, Tom was the youngest of seven sons of the late Rudolph and Lucile (Cote) Lessard. From 1986 to 1991, he proudly served in the Army National Guard, 185th Armor Division, based in San Diego, CA. After his service, he built a successful career as a master electrician and construction supervisor. A talented guitarist, Tom had a deep love for music and a passion for mentoring young musicians. He didn't just play for the joy of it-he used his talent to give back, organizing local Battle of the Bands events to raise funds for Gateway Regional High School's music program for several years. Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Jamie (Thomas) Lessard; his daughter Emily (Lessard) LaPointe and her husband David LaPointe; his son Christian Lessard and Christian's fiancée Emelia Jackson; and his grandson, Matthew Lessard. He is also survived by his brothers David (and wife Wendy), Jim (and partner Donna), Tim, Barry (and wife Michelle), and Paul (and wife Lynn); his sister-in-law Sandy; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends who were like family. Tom's life was rich with friendships that stood the test of time. His "jam buddy" Randy Merritt, and his Forest Park crew-Mike DelViscio and Armand Impionbato-were part of a bond that lasted decades. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to their caregiver, Heidi Matakanski, whose compassion and presence made her family. Thank you to his devoted nurse, Cheryl, and the staff from the Hospice of Western and Central Massachusetts. And no tribute to Tom would be complete without honoring his loyal four-legged companion, Sprout. Tom was predeceased by his brother Mark and his nephew Daniel Lessard, whom he now joins in rest. At the family's request, no formal service will be held. Memorial donations may be made to: Hilltown Community Ambulance Association, PO Box 351, Huntington MA 01050-0351

To the large and beautiful Lessard family. I'm truly sorry to hear of this tragic loss. Tommy worked with me for a while one summer, I believe, doing tree work. He sure was an easily likeable fellow. Again, I'm very sadly surprised by this news; and I'm so very sorry for your ( and our ) loss.
