Timothy Chapdelaine Obituary

Timothy Erik "Chappy" Chapdelaine, aged 48, beloved son, brother and uncle. It is with extreme sadness that Tim's family announces his death Monday September 29, 2025. Born in Holyoke on November 23, 1976 to David R. Chapdelaine (Kathryn) of Bethany, DE and Susan (Clow) Gustafson (John McCarthy) of Feeding Hills. He graduated from Monson High School and had various careers during his life including fiber optic cable work and landscaping. But the job he loved most was the years he spent as a PCA for his little sister, Jackie. He loved her fiercely and was devastated by her death in 2017 which came just four weeks after losing his beloved older brother Dave. Life was never the same for him after those losses.Tim was an avid sports fan, his favorite teams, the Patriots and the Red Sox. He also had a talent for playing the guitar which he shared with his older brother Dave. Some of his other interests included golf, video games and listening to his favorite music. He had a soft spot for animals, especially dogs and cats. He also excelled at Jeopardy and enjoyed outplaying his older brother, Dave, and Anne. In addition to his parents, Tim also leaves his older brother Jeffrey Chapdelaine and his wife Cathy of Grovetown, GA, younger brothers Christopher Chapdelaine and his wife Ali of Delaware and Andrew Chapdelaine and his wife Emily of Pennsylvania, brother Kyle Gustafson, his sister-in-law Anne Chapdelaine and her husband Steve Robbins of Southampton. His nephews, Nick Chapdelaine, Chase Chapdelaine, Tony, Jacob and Lucas Gray, his niece Sarah Chapdelaine, and his stepfather Jack Gustafson (Saige). He also leaves a large family of aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother David Chapdelaine, his sister Jacqueline Gustafson and his nephew Evan Chapdelaine. Tim was a kind, generous to a fault man who would do anything for anyone who asked. He was a loyal friend and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. Calling hours will be on October 14, 2025 from 4-7 pm at Beer's and Story Funeral Home, 1475 N Main St, Palmer, MA. Please dress in your favorite sports jersey, if you have one to honor him. Alternately, you can wear something in his favorite color, green. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Tim's memory to Loreto House, home for men in recovery. Timmy...you were like a brother to me. The world is cruel and has an odd way of taking some of the most beautiful things in it away from us. I will always remember you and all of the times we shared together.
Mrs.Gustafson, I pray that you find some comfort during this time and after. Know that Tim was loved by many. He was a good friend to me. I wish I could have been there for him.

With a sad heart and love,

Daniel Nielsen

Chappy, I am so incredibly saddened by your loss. I'm taking it hard! I haven't seen you in years, and I wish that wasn't the case.
You will always be remembered as an incredibly kind, gentle human who cared deeply for those he loved. My high school homeroom buddy! You were kind to everyone. You were always so fun to have around. I always just loved you, my friend. You deserved all good things in life. Fly with the angels. You are loved by so many. I will never forget you.
