Tina Williams-Knight Obituary

Life Reflections of Tina L. Williams-Knight May 13, 1965 – September 30, 2025 Tina L. Williams-Knight, age 60, of Hartford, Connecticut, entered eternal rest on September 30, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital. Born on May 13, 1965, Tina was the beloved daughter of Barbara Schanck and the cherished granddaughter of Clayton and Florence Williams. She was a proud graduate of Weaver High School, Class of 1983. She went on to earn an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Manchester Community College in 1986, completed Small Business Training at the University of Hartford in 2001, and later attended the St. Francis Academy for Pastoral Counseling in 2004. Tina also received a Certificate of Completion from the Black Ministries Certificate Program at Hartford International University for Religion and Peace (formerly Hartford Seminary), reflecting her deep commitment to faith and service. Tina's life was marked by devotion-to her family, her church, and her community. She began her ministerial journey at The Living Word Worship Center, where she preached her Trial Sermon on May 6, 2010. She served faithfully as Director, Board Member, and Treasurer of Pastoral Resource Ministries, under the leadership of The Rev. Dr. Thelma Gilbert, and as an Associate with Blanket of Love Ministries. Tina's dedication and compassion were recognized with the Good Works Award from Blackwell Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church in 2012. She was a CT Black Women, an organization of Black women committed to social justice. And after uniting with the Amistad United Church of Christ, she received Licensure as a Local Minister in 2014 and was honored with the Certificate of Appointment of Church Mother in 2023. Professionally, Tina touched many lives through her work at Oak Hill School in Hartford as a Paraprofessional and Residential Worker, as well as during her time with KinderCare and Travelers Insurance. She was deeply caring and nurturing, traits that carried through every aspect of her life. Tina found joy in cooking, crocheting blankets and hats, and spending time with family and friends. Her generosity extended beyond her immediate circle-she supported causes close to her heart, including the American Heart Association, the Breast Cancer Foundation, and the Kidney Foundation. Tina leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Robert Beamon, Sr.; sister, Daria Fields; cousins, Monica (Fred) Williams-Conway and Robert Omar (Staci) Beamon; niece, D. Kyla Jackson; godchildren, Robert "RJ" Jones and Janese Jones; great-nieces, Shani Watson, Ashli Beamon, Skylar Beamon, and Haleigh Haynes; great-nephews, Robert O. Beamon II and Aiden Beamon; best friend, Densie Jones; extended family members, Sabrina Myers, Robert "Kenny" Lawson, and George Patricks; and a host of loving family and friends. Tina's life was a testament to faith, love, and service. Her kindness, wisdom, and warmth will be forever remembered by all who knew her. "Well done, good and faithful servant."
