Traymont Tucker Obituary
Traymont Sinclair Tucker, a treasured soul known affectionately as "Tray" by all who knew him, left this world far too soon on August 16, 2025, after a tragic hit-and-run accident on I-95 North in Connecticut. Born on May 30, 1987, in New Haven, CT, Traymont's vibrant spirit and loving presence were a gift to those who had the fortune of crossing his path during his 38 years of life.
The beloved son of LaTrease Murray and the late John S. Tucker, Traymont grew up in a family that cherished him deeply. His siblings-Phillip Counsel Jr., Breonna Counsel, Terel Counsel, Johnice Redfearn, Jania Tucker, John Tucker Jr. and Jaquan Floyd, Special sisters Tyler Tucker and Candice Williams-shared a bond with him that was unbreakable, and his presence will be profoundly missed. Traymont's life was further blessed with the joy and love of his three children, Tramont Murray Jr., Tramell Murray, and Hunter Murray, who were the center of his world.
Traymont's educational journey saw him attending New Haven Public Schools and later, schools in Hamden, where he graduated from Eli Whitney. His entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as he navigated life with humility, resilience, and a determination to create a positive future for himself, his children, and his family. Traymont's work ethic was evident in his various employment, from Genesis Diagnostics to FedEx, M&M Landcare, and finally, Waters Construction in Bridgeport, CT. He was also known for his unique endeavor of selling watermelons, a testament to his innovative nature.
His Christian faith was a guiding force in his life, providing strength and comfort through all of his days. He attended Another Chance Church Global Ministries in New Britain when his education and work schedule allowed. Traymont's interests were a reflection of his love for life and those around him. He cherished moments spent with his children and family, often organizing gatherings for family fun. His enjoyment of the casino, sports (as an avid Cowboys fan), family dinners, vacationing, and road trips were all facets of his adventurous and spirited personality.
Courageous, optimistic, and loving-these words only begin to capture the essence of Traymont. He faced life's challenges head-on and always chose to see the best in people and situations. His warmth and generosity of spirit were a beacon of light that will continue to shine in the memories of those he touched.
Traymont is survived by a family whose love for him is immeasurable: his children, Tramont Jr., Tramell, and Hunter; his mother, LaTrease; Godmother Wendy A.
