Vincenzo Galasso Obituary

Vincenzo ("Enzo") Galasso, of New Haven, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2025, in Connecticut Hospice. He was the beloved husband of Carmela ("Lina") Masullo Galasso. Born in Naples, Italy, on May 9, 1937, son of the late Pasquale and Adele Corbo Galasso, Enzo was trained in the art of watchmaking at the Omega Institute in Switzerland. He lived and worked in Brazil, before returning to Naples while learning and perfecting his skills. Enzo dreamed of opening his own business which he accomplished after moving to Connecticut and opening Galasso's Clock and Watch. He was a voracious reader who taught himself to speak five languages; he loved gardening, winemaking, and playing tennis. Never forgetting his roots, he remained a devoted fan of SSC Napoli. Besides his wife, Vincenzo is survived by his children, Gabriella (Tony) Kiniry and Giancarlo (Paula) Galasso, and the grandchildren he adored: Daniel, Evan and Juliana Galasso, and Aedan, Jackson, Shawn, Leigh, and Meryl Kiniry as well many great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his siblings, Dora Galasso and Ugo Galasso. Visiting hours will be held Sunday March 2, 2025, from 2:00-5:00PM in the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc. 11 Wooster Place in New Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Blessed Michael McGivney Parish at St. Joseph Church on Monday March 3, 2025 at 10:00AM. Please meet directly at Church. Burial will be private.
