Wayne Steer Obituary
Wayne (Perry) Steer was born on October 9, 1972, in St. Andrew, Jamaica, to Edith Thompson and Wilbert Steer, who preceded him in death. He spent the early part of his life in the country, attending Quickstep All Age School before migrating to the United States. There, he completed his education at Weaver High School and went on to work in various industries, always bringing his unique energy and dedication to every position.
Seven years ago, Wayne met Judy-Ann, the woman who would become his wife and his rock. Wayne loved to tell the story of their first meeting, often with a playful smile, saying, "The first thing I noticed was her big butt". Judy-Ann was more than his partner; she was his caregiver, standing by his side throughout his battle with cancer and remaining devoted until his very last breath. Her unwavering love and care will forever be remembered.
Wayne had a zest for life that was infectious. He was a fan of wrestling, basketball, football, and he loved spending time in the park with his boys. His car was always spotless, and he was a talented cook and an expert at keeping a clean house. His impeccable style earned him the nickname "Fashion", and he truly lived up to it, always dressed to impress. Wayne's love for music was undeniable; whether it was singing, DJing, or grabbing the mic at a party, he always brought the energy and joy.
What stood out most about Wayne was his humility, kindness, and positivity. Even in the face of illness, he never complained. Instead, he remained grateful, always expressing his appreciation to those around him. His daily good morning texts were a simple yet beautiful reminder of the love he had for his family and friends; a gesture we will all miss dearly.
Wayne is survived by his beloved wife, Judy-Ann Henry Steer; five brothers: (one deceased); four sisters; three stepchildren; and a large, loving circle of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. His presence in our lives was a blessing, and his absence leaves a void that can never be filled.
But I know Wayne wouldn't want us to sit here and dwell in sadness. He would want us to remember the good times, cherish the memories, and laugh. So let us honor him by living with that same joy and positivity he embodied. Let us carry his kindness and love forward in our own lives.
