Wilicia Franklin Obituary

Wilicia "Meacy" Franklin was born on January 30th, 1982, in New Haven, CT, to Felicia Franklin and Willie Pringle. She went to meet our savior on Friday, September 26th, 2025. Wilicia graduated from Adult Ed in New Haven, CT, and was a former employee at Yale New Haven Hospital. She had a passion for writing poetry. She even won a poem writing contest and had her poem published, "Wings of a Dove". She loved listening to 90's music and dancing (favorite songs "I was here" & "Tennessee Whiskey"). Wilicia also shared a love for make-up, doing hair, and dressing up and she had a pair of specific cat boots that she refused to give up. She had a sweet and fiery spirit to her; she could do anything she set her mind to. She was truly a joy to be around. She enjoyed spending quality time with her loved ones, her mother Felicia and grandmother Claritha, who gave her the nickname "Meacy", and especially her favorite cousins, Keyonna Davis, Karen Davis, and Vonda Franklin. She also enjoyed babysitting her nieces and nephews and baby cousin. We mourn her untimely death, but we celebrate her life and the memories we shared with her. Her contagious smile and caring soul will forever be missed. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Wellington Zachary Franklin, paternal grandfather, Frank Pringle, maternal aunt, Loretta Davis and twin brother, Willie Franklin. She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother Felicia Franklin, her brothers, Randolph Staggs and Melvin Davis, her grandmother, Claretha Franklin. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends whom she cared for deeply. Philippians 4:7-9 "7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me-put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you."
