William Ribera

William "Bill" Ribera, 82 of Newington, CT beloved husband of Pamela (Piscottano) Ribera, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Hartford Hospital, with his loving family by his side. Born in Hartford on November 21, 1942, he was the son of the late Carl Ribera and Katherine (Polce) Ribera Shahrigian. Bill was raised in Dutch Point Colony, until the age of fourteen, where he made many life-long friends. He attended Kinsella, St. Peter's, and Bulkeley High School. Bill joined the Army Reserve, 819th Station Hospital from 1964 to 1970. He worked in the automotive industry for many years alongside his brother Carl, who owned and operated several Midas Muffler shops in the area. Bill was an avid Yankees and Giants fan. He also enjoyed the casino, reading, crossword puzzles, and found joy and peace tending to his yard. Besides his wife Pamela, Bill is survived by his children; William Ribera, Jr., Carly Ribera of Newington and Doug Lisella of Wethersfield; nieces, Christine Cassone and husband Pat, Darlene Daly and husband James of Newington, and Lisa Ruglio of Cromwell. Bill was predeceased by his brothers, Carl and Robert; sisters-in-law, Nancy and Nivea and niece, Denise Piscottano. Friends and relatives are invited to call on the Ribera family on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12 Noon at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield. A Funeral Service celebrating Bill's life will follow in the funeral home at 12 Noon. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, 453 Fairfield Avenue, Hartford. The family would like to thank Nurse Dorothy at Hartford Hospital for the compassion, comfort and care she provided to Bill and his family in his last hours.
