Wladyslawa Wodnicki

Wladyslawa "Wladzia" Wodnicki, 92, of New Britain, passed away peacefully at her home with her son by her side, on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Jan Wodnicki, and her two brothers Stanley and Bolec. Born in Poland on March 4, 1933, to the late Walenty and Marianna (Cicha) Sokolowski, Wladyslawa immigrated to the United States in 1963 with her husband and son residing with her brother Stanley and his wife Rose for a short time before relocating to West Haven. The New Britain community made a lasting impression on her, so they settled there in 1967, where she remained for the rest of her life. She was employed by Stanley Works for 30 years until her retirement in 1998 and was a faithful parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. She cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren immensely. She enjoyed taking Sunday drives to Hammonasset Beach, tending to her garden and fruit trees with her husband. She also loved canning and making jams, juices and syrup from her home-grown bounty, baking babka and poppyseed breads which were greatly missed by her family when she was no longer able to do so. A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she is survived by her son, Christopher and wife Eva; her grandchildren: Thomas (Nicole), Michael (Loren), Jesse (Jim) and Marisa and her precious great-grandchildren, Brielle, Kaylin, Tanner, Carter, Jade, Jordan and Aiden. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, July 29th from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Burritt Hill, 332 Burritt St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church.
