Xuan Nguyen Obituary
Xuan Thanh Nguyen, lovely known as Xuan of 966 Maple Street, Rocky Hill. Passed away peacefully on Thursday morning of June 26th, 2025 in her home surrounded by her loving family, at 86 yrs old. Xuan was born on March 18th, 1940 to the late Le thi Mui and Nguyen Ngoc Phu in Saigon, Vietnam. She graduated with a bachelor degree in Vietnam and was a Geography and History high school teacher at Co Giang/Tenleman high school, Saigon Vietnam. Xuan immigrated to Connecticut, USA with her husband and three daughters by political asylum with the program H.O. 15 in 1993.
She was a resident of Rocky Hill for the past 22 years. Xuan loves people, gardening, good food, cooking and traveling. She was also very passionate about helping temples and people, whenever is in need. Being the eldest child in the family of nine siblings, she has a strong, decisive and protective manner but a very loving and caring heart. She has always been looking out for her family and her brothers and sisters.
Xuan was a very devoted Buddhist and active member of Phap Hoa Buddhist Temple in Vernon. She also loved to go to all the temples around to study and support, believing anyplace that has Temples there is Buddha and would love to come to admire and worship Buddha. She was not only paying respect to the Temple but to the churches and all Venerables and sacred area.
She was also a very active member of the Rockville Senior club in Hartford since 1995, and she loved to go to the Sarah Care center in East Hartford from 2022.
Xuan leaves her husband Khanh Cong Nguyen of 56 years marriage, and her three daughters: Calypso Phan and her husband Thanh Phan; Cherry Horton and her husband Thomas Horton; Tien Xuan Nguyen and her husband Yifang Dai; grandchildren: Jordan Phan, Lana Phan, Maya Phan, William Horton, Nathan Horton, Kylee Horton and Yuanlong Nguyen Dai, and several nieces and nephews.
She also leaves behind her siblings Hoa Nguyen and his wife Ngoc ang, Hiep Thi Nguyen, Lanh Thi Nguyen and her husband Chinh Minh Nguyen, Tai Ngoc Nguyen and his wife Trang Nguyen, her youngest sister Lisa Huong Nguyen, her husband at Nguyen, and many cousins and relatives and friends living in Vietnam, the U.S. and Europe especially France.
Living through a tough and challenging life after the end of the Vietnam war in 1975, Xuan has lived a very Happy and Healthy life in the U.S. with her husband and her three daughters and families. She was a beloved Wife, Mother, Sister and Grandmother, and great loving friends to many in the community.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 3pm at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St. Rocky Hill, CT 06067. Cremation procession will be at 3p-4 pm, after 4pm Xuan will be laid to rest at Phap Hoa Buddhist Temples, 85 Prospect St., Vernon, CT.
