Yvonne M. Conte

Yvonne M. Conte, 57, of New York Mills, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 4, 2025. She was born on September 2, 1967, in New Hartford, NY, the daughter of Peter J. and Dorothy A. (Shields) Monterose. She was a graduate of Holland Patent Central High School, class of 1985. Yvonne was previously employed as a registered nurse for Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton. She was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed volunteering her time to those in need, especially to local food pantries, churches, homeless shelters, and women's shelters. She was an animal lover who always had a soft spot for the oldest dog in the shelter. Surviving are her two daughters, Kayla Conte, of Sherrill, and Rachel (Brian) Scott, of Oneida; six grandchildren, Vivian Houser, Ashley Scott, Avery Scott, Samantha Scott, Spencer Scott, and Zachary Scott; her former husband and father of her daughters, Arthur Conte; two sisters, Lisa (Mark) Spooner, of Oneida, Krin Monterose (Bob Lumpkins), of Laconia, NH; a brother, Chad (Sonya) Monterose, of Laconia, NH; and four nephews, Ryan Spooner, Sean Spooner, Kevin Spooner, and Fox Lumpkins. Yvonne was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas Monterose and Jason Monterose; and a nephew, Ian Spooner. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Helena's Church, 204 Primo Ave., Sherrill, where the Rev. Christopher J. Ballard will officiate. Family and friends are invited and may call on Saturday, May 24th prior to the service from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc., 342 Main St., Oneida.
